A Sunny Spring Day in South TX
I’ve been soaking in the sunshine; all that I can.
It’s been in the early 40°’s each morning here in the sweet (nature) south. Each morning is spent shivering and wrapped in blankets. Then each day when that incredible sun breaks, the earth and the animals and the plants all reach back out to absorb it.
I’ve been realizing how dehydrated I have been, and prioritizing my H2O consumption has been very delightful for my day to day. My partner (in crime, in life) Melford the Third, helped me to purchase it, I am incredibly grateful for that. I’m not hoping that water is actually the cure-all, much to the dismay of some Instagram wellness influencers I’m sure, but I am amazed by the little differences in each day. And the oral stimulation of a straw is just nice, cmon.
Anyways, while I was looking through my favorite photo album, to curate an Instagram “photo dump,” my old lady dog was soaking in the sunshine near me, it’s her favorite thing ( these sleepy old dogs [which always makes me thing of my dear friend, Luka]).
Anyways, she looked up at me for a second, as if to ask “are you still chilling with me out here?”
And, but of course, so I tried to motion to her to soak it in; does she know the heat of summer approaches?
Finally, and maybe I should have tried it firstly, but it felt a bit too morbid, I motioned “bang”: her command to play dead, and sure as the morning sun, she plopped down for another ten minute snooze, before heading inside for some hydration of her own.
Take care out there, buy our zine if you have the $13 (plus shipping) !
All my love and light, outwards.
