SWEET SEPTEMBERS

september is my favorite month

not only because it closes with my birthday, but because for me it acts as a month of becoming new! new beginnings, new challenges, new journeys.

september swoons with the hopes of nicer weather. we anticipate when we will feel a chill during a walk- over emphasizing the routine of the wind (coming in the form of a slightly stronger than normal breeze) i relish in this month. in its coziness and sense of safety. a month where you can sit calmly- embrace the autumnal equinox. await the coming bustle of the fall and winter.

dogs beginning to wear sweaters
pumpkins appearing in offices
decorations enticing you into stores-
i wonder if one month could become forever.

the seasons change brings new produce,
more emphasis on things that feel hearty. nutty. rich.
i cannot wait for squash, for stew, for bread.
when pies pop back up in stores. tempting towers- perfectly geometric.
